Day 64: Good Friday. Feeling a bit overwhelmed today, the entire house is in chaos - downstairs from the puppy, upstairs from the renovations. Had a wonderful chat with an old friend this morning, we had been out of touch for a few years. Its nice to have an easy reconnection but things like this also make the distance seem greater. Meanwhile I'd kill for a hot crossed bun, even the damp and soggy steamed version that my father is so fond of. I miss the solemn intensity of the Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services too, as well as the sense of community that comes with them and a shared sense of the 'journey' of Easter as a focussed spiritual experience.
